Reflecting
I just went back and read all my previous posts. A lot has changed, or feels like it for the moment anyway. Angus and I have not had a single argument or disagreement since we moved. Which feels good! But, yet again I do sit back waiting for my little bubble to burst, cause it always does ya know. We are far from settled in to our new place. My back is trashed again. Angus has been working day and night since we moved. He took a day and a half off to get us moved and this past Tuesday, that’s it. He has promised to take this weekend off to help me get boxes moved upstairs and in the garage. The kitchen and our bedrooms are about 90% done, just odds and ends to organize.
The kids are all settled in their new schools, and love them. There are already a bunch of kids here all their ages, well no teenagers Sophie’s age yet. She seems to really like her new school a lot better than her old one. It’s a lot less crowded, the classes are smaller, and they have two lunch periods so she actually has time to eat whatever she has bought. They have 4 periods instead of 6 (but changing next year) which means longer class time and can cover twice as much in a semester. Her new counselor is really great too. He has already told her she is going to have a very laid back senior year because of all the credits she already has and will accumulate this year. She will be well over what she needs to graduate with. She is now starting to believe what I told her about loading up the classes freshman and sophomore year while there is not much going on, and just in case she doesn’t get a good grade, she will have room to make it up in the future with out summer classes. So far so good. As long as she keeps it up this year she is clear sailing.
Well I should probably attempt to get a couple of things done around here while my back is feeling ok. I am stranded with out a car today, the kids can all walk to school or bus stop. WOO HOO!
