It should be noted that the Red Sox ground the Yankees into the Fenway dust last night, 7-3, and took first place in the standings. Heh. And Johnny Damon (traitor) couldn’t get a hit. Double Heh. And David Ortiz was mega-hot. Heh.

I thought this was cool:

The Red Sox arranged for a police escort to rush Doug Mirabelli, Wakefield’s former catcher, from Logan Airport to Fenway. Mirabelli, acquired from San Diego in a trade Monday, dressed in the car and arrived 13 minutes before game time.

Bet the police were thrilled to death, too. Anything to aid in the Yankees’ defeat.
