The juncos arrived in a swirl of activity yesterday. They are happy little birds who don’t seem to squabble like the other birds. They are cheerful and bouncy and full of energy, but they play nicely together. I always look forward to their arrival. Every year, I’m sure that I say, “They’re early this year,” but I really can’t remember when they usually do arrive. So, now I have it documented for future reference. Looks as if winter is just around the corner, now.
Fortunately, there are still some beach plums left on the bushes out front. They’ve been stripping the remaining fruit, but there won’t be anything left after another day or two. I haven’t put out my winter feeders yet, so I’d better hop to it this weekend.
