Thinking about Craigslist

I delivered the lad to the train station this morning, bright and early. By now, he and his Dad should be finishing up a visitation at Emerson College and preparing to head out to the airport for a flight to Ohio where they will visit grandma and do the prospective student orientation tour at OWU. Then, I believe they catch another flight to Philly where Dad does business on Monday and then they drive to Easton for a tour of Lafayette. And home on Tuesday night. There’s a whirlwind trip for you. Naturally, the lad was giddy at the idea of missing 3 days of school. Excused absences for seniors visiting colleges, so it’s guilt free and fun, fun, fun.

Meanwhile, back on the ranch, I’m cleaning again. And resuming the pitching and hoeing and thinking a dumpster would be really useful. Or Craigslist if instant gratification isn’t completely necessary. After all these years, I’m still trying to fit in a little house and it’s no easy task to let go of your history. But when your history doesn’t fit in your house, there’s not much else to do but let it go (since I don’t really plan on having a big house again). For me, that paring down has taken considerable time. My basement looks like the combination of a furniture store and a flea market. [Insert huge sigh]

I’ve heard that Craigslist is really a good way to get rid of stuff. The idea of someone taking stuff away and maybe even paying me something for it really appeals to me. It’s a heck of a lot better than paying someone to haul it away. I may give that a try over the weekend and see if anything happens.
