So she is resigning, Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. To spend time with her husband who is suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. Boy, am I sorry to see her go, but it would be small to want her to stay under the circumstances. Now we have to put up with Karl Rove’s propaganda machine, icky nominees, and bitter fighting. Oh that the Prez could be reasonable about this. What are the chances?

I listened to John McCain on CNN wax eloquently on about how this will be a reasonably smooth nominating and confirmation process because he’s part of the gang of 14, don’tcha know, and they have power.

Then Judge Bork was interviewed and he spewed utter nastiness toward Justice O’Connor. It was revolting. He’s worse now than he was when he went through his confirmation hearing and thankfully was rejected. Nasty person. Unfortunately, he’s closer in philosophy to President Bush’s ideals than Justice O’Connor.

So, I’m not expecting much. Other than kissing women’s reproductive rights goodbye. That is what this is going to be about.
