Just two days ago, on Thursday (see 5 posts below), I wrote about buying a tank of gas for $2.50 per gallon.
Today I drove past the same gas station and it was $2.61!!!
So I decided to do an in-town comparison shopping expedition. The results:
Global
Regular: $2.59
Mid-Grade: $2.69
Premium: $2.79
Citgo
Regular: $2.61
Mid-Grade: $2.71
Premium: $2.81
Mobil
Regular: $2.57
Mid-Grade: $2.71
Premium: $2.81
Shell
Regular: $2.68
Mid-Grade: $2.80
Premium: $2.93
Sunoco
Regular: $2.57
Mid-Grade: $2.69
Premium: $2.79
And yes, there were several people lined up at the self-serve Shell station when the Mobil station across the street was selling for roughly 9-10 cents less per gallon and the Sunoco station next door for even less. Perhaps the Shell credit card is a more important convenience than price....??
