Who Dat?

Tuesday, 6:16 pm

Miss me?  Been busy....actually in training - you see everyone always tells me we have to drink Hurricanes - especially from Pat O’Brien’s off Bourbon Street, so like any good athlete, I have been working towards that goal--this means lots of preparation so started with bloody marys when we got here Sunday, then beer, then margaritas, have had more than a few mojitos--last night was limoncello mojitos which were amazing.  Doing a jazz dinner cruise tonight and then I think my preparations will be complete!!

Walked by Margaritaville today and did not succomb....but two blocks down we ended up back Cafe du Monde for biegnets and coffee.  Husband is usually pretty good about that sort of thing--I am the bad one, but today he ordered DOUBLE orders, I thought I was hearing things.

So, weather spectacular, everything has been fun so far.  We came back to change for the cruise tonight so thought I would say hey.  My only complaint is most of the restrooms in bars and such are skanky and I mean skanky.  I admit to being picky but we were in some place near the Cafe du Monde the other day, stopped for a cocktail--Joe went to the Men’s room and when he came back said ahhhhhhhhhh you definitely do not want to go back there.  And there have been a lot like that

Someone told us to go to Brennan’s for breakfast--this was a good friend.  Neglected to say if you stuck to the menu as is, you would spend $150 for two for breakfast by the time you are done.........hmmmm - we got out of there for around $55 and considered ourselves lucky.  But we laughed all the way out so not bad.  Had another interesting restroom experience there.  Clean though.  So maybe another day.

Spent the day in the French Marketplace area which was interesting.  They have their own Jazz Festival ths weekend so we will try to hit that up.  Are going to the Spotted Cat and another jazz club tonight or tomorrow night.  Maybe after our cruise tonight.  Or maybe back to Harrah’s--I have done OK there this week - we have been ending up there around 10 or so.

Last night I managed to leave my phone on the machine I was playing at.  Long story.  Anyway walked out of there around 1 and got halfway across the street when I realized it, we literally ran back to the machine and it was already gone.  The cocktail waitress told me to make them review the security tapes to see who picked it up so I asked them to do that.  They said they woud and would call me.  They did both. Called me at 4AM and left a message saying they had my phone.  Then this very sweet security lady called me back at 6AM to be sure I got the message.  I had and now I am ready for a nap!!  So at 1AM I put a hold on my cell number and at 9AM I resumed service.  Whewwwwwwwwwwww

And now I have to go, have no time to correct my mistakes, so please forgive me.  This little mini laptop I bought is really small and I am finding it hard to get used to.  But it serves the purpose.

Play nice, I will be talkin on all ya’all later,
Ciao’

I am so envious. Truly. However, I think it is only fair that you should know....it’s 84 degrees here today, the forsythias are in full bloom, the weeping cherry trees are in full bloom, the azaleas are starting to bloom, the tulip trees will be in full bloom by the end of the day, the trees are leafed out, and I need to mow my grass. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sending such lovely New Orleans weather up our way this week. Now, if you could just see to it to bring some back with you as well.

It sounds as if you are having a blast. Enjoy, enjoy!!!

Ah!  Now I see and understand - after reading back to see why and when Kate began this new burst of posting, I discover that it isn’t Kate at all but a Kateposter.  (OK, that’s supposed to read Kateposter as in imposter, not as in a blog poster).  If you’re still in N’Awlins, there’s a place on Bourbon Street we found in our last visit called the Redfish Grill.  Not expensive, but very good food.  It’s 3 or 4 blocks from Canal Street.

Kate:  You had to know if we left town the weather would be fantastic.  But the truth is, we both would have had to work if we had been around so I would have been annoyed that I was missing it.  I am sure my flowers will have been and gone by the time we get back!!

Linkmeister:  That was on our list, but I think we have run out of time!

Harry:  Obviously you are Kate’s friend and if you are looking for her amazing take on life and politics and everything else, you won’t find it from me.  The hope is she is going to get the urge and start blogging instead of tweeting again.  Until then you will get stuff from me, the Kate-imposter!  We did see that restaurant the other night when we were on Bourbon Street - maybe tonight if we end up back there.  SO many things, so little time..

Hey Harry. I’m hovering around the periphery. One of these days I’ll blog again. It’s rather enjoyable having someone else do it for a while, though. And Cyn brings a lot of energy to her posts. She’d be a really fun person to go on vacation with, I’ll bet. smile
