The Gauntlet has been thrown down
Oh.My.God. A neighbor across the street just installed two Tea Party candidates’ signs in her front lawn. Where I can’t miss them whenever I walk out my front door. I knew there was something off about her. I hate those signs. I hate them with a rich, deep, and abiding passion. If I wasn’t the person I am, I would rip them out of the ground some dark foggy night. But, I’m fair minded. Kind of. I believe, however, the answer to this is two signs for Democrats in my front yard. The Democratiest Democrats that I can find.

A house in my neighborhood sometimes displays a handmade “Don’t Tread On Me” flag. It’s up some days, gone some days. I have this imagined sequence of events in my head:
Man puts up flag.
Woman comes home, “You put that damn flag up again, take it down NOW!”
At least, I like to think so. But this being Mississippi, probably not.

2. Yes, 2-3 signs, bumper sticker, perhaps even the sticker I read about the other day about Palin and Beck in 2012--it says “Lipstick and Dipstick”!! Perhaps a nicely sized poster in your front window or door?
3. Tell me where it is, I will go pull them out of the ground. Oh.my.god doesn’t begin to cover it!!...........
I can’t seem to collect my thoughts before the next news cycle obliterates them with a new shock. I can’t catch my breath long enough to blog. I’ve never seen anything like what I’m seeing. What in the world has happened to us anyway? Christine O’Donnell??? Geez, she makes our teabagger look like a liberal! I can’t stand it!!
There’s only one sign left now. I think one of the guys lost. I don’t think anyone ripped it out of the ground. Not that I didn’t consider it. Or Sharpie vandalism........
Emily’s List has started a new website called “Sarah Palin doesn’t speak for me” - you might want to check it out. I am so shocked at the number of women who are lining up for these tea partiers.............and women like Christine O’Donnell and that wingnut (among others) in Vegas.....what part of women’s rights do they not get? Supposedly this Christine O’donnell is really looking for a gig on TV--she is MADE for FOX, don’t you think?
One of the things that astonished me about the woman across the street embracing these teabaggers is that I thought she had reasonably sound analytical skills. She’s a math teacher for cripes sake. This is a failure to think things through. She’s aligning herself with candidates whose sole platform is cutting taxes. It’s their solution to everything. And yet it’s those taxes that are paying her salary (or not) and providing books and equipment to her school (or not) and she’s been bitching like a good fella about the budget cuts over the last few years. Well, where the sam hill does she think the money is going to come from to support her profession if we keep whacking taxes? I just don’t understand people who are all in favor of cutting off their own noses and then scream like banshees when it actually hurts. And then think the solution is to cut off more nose.
Christine O’Donnell is going to end up being Sarah’s arch rival (because she’s prettier and younger). The catfights could be spectacular. ;)
