Racy ring tones
I was listening to Science Friday on NPR this afternoon. It was all about birds and spring birding. There was a guy on from e-nature who mentioned that their website offers free ring tones for your cell phone. Of what, you ask? Why, they’re mating calls of various creatures. And they’re a hoot. Bet you could scare the people next to you right out of their skin if your phone erupted with the Howler Monkey, the Amorous Elk, or the Coyote. There are some really pretty bird songs, too, though. The previews of the ring tones didn’t work in Firefox for me, but did just fine in Internet Explorer. I’m going to snag one or two, but haven’t decided which ones yet.
Have you got the latest version of Firefox? 2.0.0.13 is what I have, and I had no trouble hearing them. Maybe you have some other conflict.
I particularly like the elk bugling, but I don’t really want it on my cellphone!
OK, so it is about 5:30AM, I am getting ready to go to work in the city--have to leave by 7 and for some reason decided to listen to these.....I am not sure if they are as funny as I think they are or if it is cause I am dead tired (you know, when you have to get up at 5, you wake up at 3 and watch the clock EVEN THO you set the alarm) but I am sitting here cracking up. Maybe we can set a new trend in cellphone rings!! Happy Saturday....SNOW MUST MELT TODAY!
You’re right, Linkmeister. I still had Firefox 2.0.0.12. I upgraded and now the previews work.
Can you imagine living where the elk do that every day in the spring?
Cyn, I thought it would be satisfying to assign the Howler Monkey as a designated ring. We won’t say for whom, but it would crack me up every time it rang.
The sun might be strong enough to melt some snow, but the temperature is having a tough time crawling above freezing today. It’s not going to melt because it’s warm out, that’s for sure.
I’m officially annoyed. I had no trouble downloading the ringtones (I liked the squirrel), but my Tracfone Motorola W370 doesn’t seem to like any website but Tracfone’s own. I’ve emailed them to discuss this.
Growl.
(deucalion? Huh?)
Deucalion - the son of Prometheus. He was favored by Zeus when the latter decided to bring on the deluge. Deucalion and his wife built an ark and then repopulated the earth with the bones (stones) of mother earth. Zeus must have been very bored with no one to toy with during this period.
Tracfone is a little proprietary? I hope there is a way around that. Be interested in hearing what Tracfone tells you.
Oh! That Deucalion!
