Make a cat crazy toy

Sunday, 11:38 pm

While this almost doesn’t qualify as a blog post (and I have nothing much to say today, anyway), I would like to point to the coolest cat toy ever. It’s a laser mouse. It is like a little laser pointer, but it’s neater looking and easier to hold. And it makes the kitty run like a maniac in circles and up walls, chasing the little red dot. In fact, it might end up making the kitty just a little crazy. Abbie loves this toy and has nearly exhausted herself chasing the little red dot all over the house. I have never seen anything get this cat so excited in her entire life. The only problem is that Mom’s hand gets tired eventually and then the little red dot goes away, which leaves Abbie meowing for more and searching the floors, walls, and ceiling for that little red dot, which surely must be hiding and will re-emerge At Any Moment. Keeps her out of trouble, in any case.

Well maybe I should just get one of those and forget about playing with a computer. Sigh.
Now GC1’s laptop has decided that it doesn’t have a wireless network adapter installed and configured, sigh. Just out of the blue. One seconded its connected and the next, wammo gone!
After being very sick for the past several says, I am about at my wits end with computers and what not. Guess I will just tell the bill collectors when they call, sorry my new cat toy doesn’t have the capability to connect to the internet to pay the bills lol.
One good reason NOT to be too green. Why did I go paperless on most of my bills. Sigh. Uhg, GC2 neeeeeeeeeeddddddddddddssss this computer.

Maybe she needs a new wireless card? You have a dark little computer hating cloud hovering over your house! If I was in your shoes, I’d already be insane and a danger to the rest of the household. I’m so sorry.

You have more will power than I do.  if I had gone with to pick out a kitten i am afraid I would have brought one home too!

The rules and regulations saved me from myself, Annie. One must go through an application and interview process before adopting a cat from the Feline Rescue Association. Takes a few days. Then there is the waiting list. Even if I’d wanted one, I couldn’t have taken one on Saturday. Not that the thought didn’t cross my mind. The kittens were beautiful.

where can I get one for Dusty.  I followed your link but you cannot buy them on that site?  I definitely think it would be a good thing cause then she might, just might, not be jumping on the dressers in the middle of the night and knocking things down to play with or she might actually stop bringing her toys up at 3AM and throwing them on the bed.  Ya think??

Cyn, I found mine at WalMart. You might find it at other pet stores like PetSmart or the like, but I don’t know.

If Dusty is anything like Abbie (who also loves her nocturnal knock-things-off-the-dresser episodes), this gadget will poop her right out just in time to go to bed. Abbie sleeps like a log at night now. She chases the little red ‘bug’ all over the house several times a day and never seems to tire of it. I like to play with her head a little bit...let the red bug disappear into a crack someplace and then shut the light off. Abbie sits and waits and waits and waits for that bug to come back out. It just tires a little kitty right out. I have as much fun as she does. smile

I MUST get one.  Obviously she did not get enough fresh air or exercise yesterday cause at 3AM she was first in the bathroom getting a drink - I have learned to leave her a cup of water in there or else she MEOWS in my ear for me to go turn the faucet on! and then decided to play with a pair of earrings I had stupidly left on the dresser.  SO, at 3:15AM I gave up and stumbled downstairs and put her in the cellar for the rest of the night!  It was either that or the other person in my bed was going to put her in a snowbank!! At least that was the threat, ;) (Thank goodness she likes the cellar - her litter boxes are there and there are tons of places to curl up and/or hide)
