It finally stopped snowing!
Well, I think it’s done snowing. Here’s what I just love about the weather forecasts. They all said we’d get from 3” to 6” of snow yesterday and maybe another 1” to 2” last night through this morning. By my calculations, that adds up to a maximum of 8 possible inches. And you know what? The forecasts were so wrong. Not even in the ballpark.
There is so much snow on my deck that Abbie has to stand on her hind legs at the sliding glass door to see over the snow. There’s a good foot and a half of new snow out there.
I haven’t had to go anywhere so I’ve been putting it off, but now I gotta go shovel the wretched stuff. Naturally, the lad is away for the long weekend, so he gets out of shoveling what is probably the last snow storm of his vacation. Unfortunately, I did not make arrangements with the snow plow guy in time, so I have to do it. Possibly, when I do make arrangements with the snow plow guy, it will not snow again for the rest of the winter. It’s a nice thought, but instead it’ll probably snow harder.
I guess I’d better stop putting off the inevitable and go get it over with. Ick, ick, ick.
Alrighty. The driveway is finished. The piles of snow along the sides of the driveway are now over my head and pitching the snow out of the driveway is exponentially more difficult. I think we should have a January thaw now, please.
I can’t even tell you how much we have. It was well past my knees. It took three trips out side for me to shovel it all. And then out there again after I opened the second floor windows to knock the icicles of the gutters. They are so big and long that I could almost, almost touch them with my broom standing on the ground. I miss calculated one, and, and, now there is a nice big dent in E’s car hood.
And, he noticed it right off the bat when he got home. Sheot.
I guess we are suppose to get more tonight. Mostly to the south of us, I hope?
A foot and a half (18 inches) should come up past your knees. Does mine. The deck, a path to the woodpile, and the woodpile are now dug out. And a load of wood brought in. The lad arrived home in time to help me do that. I guess this means it will snow again.
re the icicle....at least it wasn’t your car.
LOL, yes I know. He just told me it was a good thing he doesn’t like the car anymore. He was so smitten with that stupid thing when we first got it. I have never liked the stupid thing. It gave me nothing but trouble.
