Clumsy day
Well, I’m having one of those days. Everything I touch falls apart or malfunctions. I’ve brewed a complete pot of coffee all over the counter top. I still don’t know what happened there. None of the coffee went into the coffee pot. I had to clean off the counters and, in the process, I broke a tea cup. Then I made another pot of coffee and proceeded to knock two consecutive mugs full of coffee over. I had to mop the floor, and the mop head broke off the mop handle. And when I pulled the trash bag out of the trash can, it broke open all over the floor. I went down to the mailbox to gather mail and found a key in my mailbox. That key goes to the large box at the bottom of the bank of mailboxes, reserved for packages. I stuck the key in the lock and turned it. It went...sproiiiiing. The key froze in place and the lock didn’t open. My package is being held hostage.
I think I should sit in a chair for the rest of the day and not move a muscle. I’m afraid to think what else I could break. Should be doing laundry, but that’s a big piece of equipment to kill.
I should have known the minute I got out of bed. The very first thing I did was knock a glass of water off the dresser. Some days I’m a complete klutz.
Geeze, how in the world did you ever accomplish typing and posting this blog entry? At least it wasn’t the sort of day during which you could have broken a lawn mower as well.
Yes, you definitely need to huddle up until this passes.
S’alright. I just had to change the mattress pad and sheets for Mom because she spilled coffee on them while pouring a cup.
One of them days everywhere.
I’m blaming it on the largest, brightest full moon of the year.
N, on a day like today I could undoubtedly kill the lawnmower just by looking at it. I’m not going to even glance in its general direction.
Oh you poor thing. I haven’t had one of those days in a long time. I probably shouldn’t have said that.
omg! what a day you have had. i agree....it is safest to be still and not touch a thing. sounds like one of those deadly hormone days to me. i would have been screaming by number 2 or 3 but sounds like you are pretty resilient!
The rest of the day passed uneventfully, though I didn’t get in the car to go to the store nor did I go out to bring in wood. Both seemed like opportunities ripe for disaster given the way the morning went. The mailman brought my package to my door. That was a lovely act of kindness. He didn’t have to, but he said he was already here so it seemed silly to take the package back to the post office in order for me to go pick it up. The lock was broken. He said they do wear out and they’ll have it fixed in a couple of days. No problem.
So far, today has been smooth sailing—taking a moment to knock on wood.
Back safe and sound?
Yes, we are. It was a very long day—didn’t get back home until a few minutes before 3AM. We had to make several stops before we even left Easton. Had to do a little Christmas shopping. Fun day, though. It’s lovely having him home. He’s cooking already. Omg, my clean kitchen! I almost had a panic attack. But then....then....he cleaned up and not a pan is out of place. Wow.
