Cider Press Hill

Christmas light

Thursday, 10:15 pm

I was just sitting here by the wood stove, enjoying the warmth and some pretty candle light. I bought this little lamp a few days ago, and it’s one of those impulse purchases that will probably be remembered as one of my all time favorites. I love it and so enjoy watching the candle flame flicker inside. I like the way it reflects off the wood bench it’s sitting on. The bench is very old—was once used as a laundry bench many years ago. For now, it’s serving as my coffee table. I was thinking of getting a new coffee table, but maybe not. I love this bench, too, even though it is distressed and well used. But that is its charm. The little candle lamp makes it even more charming.

Well you know that if you ever get tired of that bench.......... it would have a loving home to take it in. As if that would ever happen lol. I covet that bench! I am so glad you are using it again!

You know that I have an on-again off-again love affair with this bench. It is about a foot too long for my living room, but I discovered that putting a chair at one end of the bench seems to balance things out so that the extra length sort of visually disappears. So I’m in my on-again phase. But yes, I am using it again and can’t help touching it every time I walk by. It has stories to tell.
