Oh rats

The lad just called with an update. He’s deeply immersed in study groups and feeling lousy. By the time his exam ends tomorrow evening, he’ll still have packing and cleaning up to do (fridge clean out) and figures he’d be lucky to get it finished by 8:30-9:00 PM with the way he’s moving. I’d be really pushing it if I drove until 3 or 4 in the morning on the return trip. The trip is postponed until the crack of dawn on Sunday. I guess traffic will be considerably lighter on Sunday morning, though. And we’ll get back home by early evening. But now I have another day in which to watch the hands on the clock crawl.

But at least I’m ready. The car is filled with gas and I had the oil and filters changed and the radiator checked and refilled today. I’m good to go.
