Noisy morning

There has been a higher than usual number of military aircraft flying over the past two days, especially this morning. They sound different than normal air traffic and I’ve been running to the door to take a look. Jets and choppers. They’ve been heading northeast, which seems like an odd direction. That would be toward the ocean. Where are they going and what are they up to?
