My defense against the heat

Ugh, it is hot here today. Not as humid yet as promised, so that’s a slight plus. It’s 96° right now, with a heat index of 106°. I’d whine and moan about it more extensively, but I don’t think I’ve earned that right considering the lower half of the country has been putting up with this kind of heat every single day for the past month or so.

I haven’t felt the need to turn the AC on yet. A couple of small fans have kept me reasonably comfortable. I think we’re supposed to have severe thunderstorms tonight that will help usher in a cool front. Tomorrow will be better, again.

When I’m reading, I don’t seem to notice the heat as much, so I plan to keep reading all day.
