Why do you suppose my computer is sending and receiving packets of data to/from http://www.dhs.gov (department of homeland security)?! Without me lifting one little finger?

A couple of times a week I check my computer traffic logs to see what is going on in the background and tonight I find that my computer has been a busy little fella talking to Homeland Security, today, via a Windows application called ndisuio.sys, which appears to have a number of people concerned over its capacity to poke around where it doesn’t belong. But apparently it is also some vital bit required when using wireless internet.

Now, I’ve never seen my computer talk to Homeland Security before and I was trying to think what or where I’ve been that might have flagged someone’s interest. Then I realized that I spent quite a lot of time this afternoon tracking the lad’s flight from Denver to Philly to Boston. You know, making sure the plane didn’t end up over Iceland like it did once before (tracker glitch).

Other than that, I haven’t a clue. I don’t like my computer sending and receiving data to/from Homeland Security, thank you very much.

Anyone have any other ideas on what this might be about?
