I hate politics

It’s like a horror movie. I can’t take my eyes away and I’m morbidly fascinated by what I see, but I hate it.
And that wasn’t helped this morning by a program on Boston’s NPR news radio—The Connection—where one of the guests was Kieran Mahoney, Republican Strategist. Every other sentence he uttered began with, “The truth is...” and I thought, “Probably not.”
Then, in response to a remark from a listener about the extreme divisiveness running rampantly through Washington and the country, he made the straight-faced claim that President Bush has been a uniter and has governed from the center.
I damned near hyperventilated.
If Repub strategists truly believe the president has governed from a centrist position, how far out in the right fringe do they live?!
That is a rhetorical question, btw.
