How to make it rain

Today promised to be sunny and pleasant without oppressive humidity, so I thought I’d do a load of laundry and hang it out on the deck lines.
This act, I have come to believe, is a bona fide rain dance. Similar to watering the lawn or washing the car. As soon as the laundry was hung, the clouds moved in and the breezes picked up. Thunder is rattling in the distance. The fog rolled in, too.
You almost get the impression sometimes that there is a Mount Olympus where feisty gods live to pull strings for their amusement.
