Wanted to wish a Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate. I hope you have had a lovely day.
And maybe a marshmallowy peep or two to blow up in the microwave. (okay, that’s not a very Eastery thought, but ever since I found out how to do that, it has become tradition that I simply cannot resist.)
It’s a lovely sunny day here. The ground is still covered with snow, but the piles and drifts are noticeably smaller. It feels like spring, whether or not it looks like spring. The willows are dressed in their intense spring yellow green and the weeping cherry tree in the front lawn has branches so swollen with buds that the branches have begun drooping a little further down than in the past few months. It seems very strange to see these signs of spring with so much snow still on the ground. It will take several more warmish days before the yard gets down to bare earth. Waiting....waiting....
This morning a friend and I had tentatively planned on brunch at a local eatery, but somehow that didn’t pan out. Neither being a morning person, it appears we both clobbered the snooze button a few too many times and then felt quite awful when we realized we’d missed the appointed hour. I called and discovered that she’d slept in, too. So, we just gabbed on the phone for an hour instead. That worked out pretty well, actually. She’s in the mad throes of spring cleaning and I’m still all comfy in my sweats with a second pot of coffee brewing. The dogs are happily fed and snoozing. And the kitties are all tucked in for their long afternoon naps. Pretty peaceful here. How about you?
