If I come across my watermans when I put my office back to gether, I will mail them to you
Ohh. You’re in trouble now. My addiction started with my grandfathers’ fountain pen. I have more than 50 now. At least as far as collections go, they don’t take up much room. And a pen is something you use every day. I have a very pretty rollerball that gives me pleasure every time I look at it. Not a bad investment.
LOL. Brian! Well, let’s look at this rationally. If I was willing to spend that much for three steel nibbed pens, then I should just go get that lovely Pelikan I’ve been wanting, instead.
Or...maybe I should tuck that money away until my next “HAVE TO HAVE” fit comes over me and keep going until I have accumulated the guilt free funds to acquire the very beautiful Conway Stewart White Casein fountain pen that I have been lusting after for two years without lifting a finger to do a thing about it. Because it is the most beautiful pen I’ve ever seen (well, nearly anyway) and I’d give it a really good home.
But, of course, if I ever bought it, it probably wouldn’t be quite as wonderful as it has looked in the lovely photographs these past two years...or it would and I’d be afraid to use it very often for fear of damaging its perfection by dropping it in the toilet or something.
Maybe I’d just better get one of the Lepine ones. I’m leaning toward the red. I’m not usually one to like steel nibbed pens, but I know a couple of collectors who have these and say they write quite beautifully.
Annie, I wouldn’t say no, but I still think you should get that gorgeous ink and start writing that list.
Lorinda, I did not realize! You have a nice collection going. I certainly don’t have that many, but it could happen easily enough. I’ve managed to keep a lid on my acquisition fever, but it’s always a struggle. I’ve enjoyed collecting vicariously though...The Laurel Tree.
I understand there are people who prowl antique shops and junk stores just looking for old pens. It’s a proud tradition you’re being sucked into!
I vote #1, but you said you like #2 so buy all three. Maybe just not all at one time. Sigh, I want to be single and not have to justify my purchases to anyone LOL. I want the toy you showed me the other day. I thought I might not be able to get used to it but, I was reading on the laptop and thought...... crap this would be so much easier if I could hold it closer in my hand
Pablo, Kate has had this addiction for a very long time. Very. She has restrained herself for many years lol.

Those Lepine pens are very pretty and not at all expensive. You could buy three of them for less than the price of a single Mont Blanc.
I knew I had crossed a threshold in my pen addiction when I no longer considered a $300 pen “expensive”. Luckily, I got over that addiction some time ago.
Buy the pens.
