Cider Press Hill

All's well

Yes, Kate still lives. Not to worry. Everything is okay in my little corner of the world.

I have been doing Other Things. I have been trying to pull back a little bit from the internet. I’ve needed a vacation from blogging. I’ve been thinking. I’ve been reading voraciously.

And, generally, I’ve been so disgusted with the world (the news), that it seemed better to keep quiet and use the energy to do something constructive. Anger creates lots of energy. It comes in handy when digging in the dirt, whacking weeds, and such.

And....

A week ago, I decided that Dobby needed a friend.

Through an entirely unexpected turn of events, somehow I ended up with a rescue budgie. One who had been abandoned and was in desperate need of medical attention and care. To say the least, she has consumed a fair amount of my time. But she’s coming along and responding very well to her medicines, good nutrition, and lots and lots of attention. She’s a real cutie. Her name is Lucy.

There must be a visible stamp on my forehead that says, “Super soft touch.”

Both birds are in quarantine for the next two months. One upstairs and one downstairs. Makes for an interesting household, I’ll tell you. When the quarantine is over and they can safely cohabit, things should be even more interesting. And even more fun. ;)
