No, I haven’t tried IcyHot, though it was recommended by someone else, too. Maybe Aspercreme would be a good idea, as well. A friend of mine said she’d go fetch me some stuff from the store if I need it....might send her over to get some. I don’t think I’ll be driving anywhere for a day or two. In the meantime, though, moist heat has helped keep things from tightening up unbearably. The heating pad feels good, too, since it’s FREEZING around here.
Ouch! I did something similar not that long ago, heat, massage and lots of ibuprofen. I broke down and visited the doc for something stronger eventually. It just takes time. Feel better soon.
"I felt a little zzzzzip and a sting in a muscle located approximately in the upper left quadrant of my rear end. Now, it does seem an unlikely sort of place for a muscle to get all twitchy over the simple lifting of a leg, which I’m sure that I’ve done a million times before, but this time, there must have been a slight angle that the little muscle didn’t like. I don’t think it’s such a little muscle anymore. Either that or it’s one that’s attached to Everything Else.
I am thinking that it is the Sciatic Nerve that is being irritated.. The symptoms sure seem to bear that out, having went through a period of a pain that ran down from the buttock through the upper leg… You might want to have it looked at by a Dr. I hope that it let’s it’s claws out of that area real soon.. You have my sympathy
ouch. Much sympathy. I know how you feel!!!
Things are definitely way better today. I’m still yelping “Oww” every now and again, but *nothing* like the past few days. I think I should be back to nearly normal by Thursday. I am counting on that. The grass needs to be cut.
J, my sympathy right back at you. Besides being painful, the boredom is enough to make you crazy. I had to get out of the house today or I’d have gone stark raving mad. I don’t think I did myself any damage, but I’m not going to push my luck any further today. I so know how you feel.
It’s gorgeous out today. A whole 66° and bright sunshine. No seabreezes so far, either. Perfect. Tomorrow is supposed to be even better. Imagine that!
Sports Cream - I think that is the actual name - and Aleve are my two newest best friends!! Does sound like the sciatic nerve--have had some arguments with mine over the years......I think you are supposed to use ice for the first 24 hours (tough to do when you are freezing) and then alternate ice and heat after that. Good luck, it is NO fun, I know, but you are right, it will get better........
I hope it gets better soon, too. I overdid things a bit yesterday and am back where I started. Should have known better. I don’t know about the sciatic nerve...my leg doesn’t hurt at all. It’s just when I move anything that a white hot pain erupts in that one spot in my backside. That’s the only thing that hurts, but so far, it seems as if the only things I can move without irritating it are my fingers and my head. Everything else seems to be connected to that one spot. It’s rather amazing.

Have you tried any of the cream things, like IcyHot or Aspercreme? If nothing else, you feel like you’re doing something, and you’ll also be very fragrant.
I’ve been rubbing that into my shoulder/upper arm off and on for a couple of weeks.
