What’s the reason for not getting gas on a rainy day? I’m not disputing it, just curious.
And yes, it is ugly out. We need the rain, but this 44° business is nuts. I had to turn the heat on and I shouldn’t have to on April 28th!!! I was also cold and wet when I came home. And maybe a little bit bitchy, too. It’s not as if we’re asking for that much. Just a nice string of 60° days would be really pleasant for a change. The normal high for this time of year is 63°! WHERE IS IT??!!??
LOL! I do...with an rss feed on my Google homepage.
I suppose, compared to next month, your gasoline will seem like quite a bargain today. It would make me wince plenty, though.
3.79 if I get it at Costco - 3.85 elsewhere - and that is the low grade stuff. Heaven forbid I go to premium.
I commute by motorcycle when I can because of the better mpg, but even filling up the puny tank on it the other day ran me over $14.
$3.52 in Dallas. Costco is about 10 cents cheaper, but the closest one to me is about 15 miles - not worth the drive for me.
I can find it as low as $3.38 in rural Missouri (last weekend, anyway). I can walk to work went the weather permits (and I don’t have errands to run before/after work).
Gosh Pablo, looks as if we should all move to Missouri!
Joann...a motorcycle! That’s just too cool.
Alan, you’re still less than we are. I wish we had a Costco around here. We have a Sam’s Club a few miles up the road, but I don’t remember if they sell gas. I don’t have a membership anyway, though.
Lorinda, looks like you win the highest price award. That’s steep. You’ll break $4 very soon, I’d imagine.
I wonder if it’ll ever stop going up. There appears to be a bit of a supply problem at the moment.
I read yesterday that natural gas just took a huge leap, too. Oh yay.
You had to ask........I think something about condensation, danger of getting water in the gas, I dunno.....but when I read it it definitely made sense (then)!! Yeah, natural gas did and I am sitting here shivering cause I really, really want to push the heat up. It is set at 60 and house is about 61 and I am not liking it.
Do you have a membership at BJ’s? There is a new one in Haverhill which is about halfway between where you live and I live. I believe their gas has been running about 50 cents less than other stations. Do I remember that when I need gas? NOOOOOOO
I haven’t bought gas yet...wonder what it will be when I go out tomorrow. Your gas is pretty high, too, Judy. Although, I guess, only about 6 cents higher than ours. Still, it looks awfully expensive. Guess we’d better get used to it and then some.
Cyn, I’m freezing, too. It’s 48 freaking degrees out. And my grass needs to be mowed. It’s windy and COLD. And the grass is still sopping wet. If not for the latter, I’d really have to force myself to go do it. This has been the most disagreeable spring I can remember. The thermometers won’t break if they hit 60°! Really, they won’t!
No, no membership at BJ’s. They aren’t really close enough. Haverhill is quite a hike and the other closest one is in Portsmouth.
My gracious. Gasoline was $3.64 today. That’s an increase of 5 cents in two days. I bought a whole 4.12 gallons.
$3.99 9/10 in Richmond California where it is getting refined and doesn’t have to be transported all the way across the country.
By today or tomorrow, you’ll probably have passed the $4 mark, Margaret. Who’d have ever thought? So why is it so much more expensive in CA than out here?
Nobody here has been able to figure that out. And believe me there is a very loud vocal group of people who are trying. We all want to know.

I asked the owner of the Gulf Station where I go if he was putting gas mixed with gold in my car, I paid 3.54 Friday, it was 3.45 the week before and the week before was 3.39 I think.....I had all the slips in my visor as I was actually paying attention for a change......I also said for what I am paying (for regular) he needs to give me a prize or something...he just laughs at me. And I only drive a sedan so not even close to what it costs for an SUV. My husband drives a sports car, has to use high test and I am SO glad it is not me paying his bill!!
Good decision not to get gas today, they say you should not get gas on a rainy day, nor the day that they get new supplies and a few other times. But rain is high on a no-no list.
Plus it is freaking miserable out. I had a day’s worth of errands to run, got through half and came home, I am wet, cold and bitchy!! I know how badly we need it, but it could be a little warmer!
