I had the same thought, Cyn. That has worked for me in the past, too. Not this time, though. Darn it.
I haven’t called the furnace guy yet. I’m still resisting the idea. Seems a waste to repair something a month before it’s going to be shut off for the season. It would make better sense to have it serviced and repaired and cleaned in August or September instead.
Guess it depends on when I run out of wood and how cold it gets.

Keep trying.........like every half hour or so, you COULD get lucky and it will go on. Most likely the little thingy that makes it go on might be stuck/rusted from not being used. Our old furnace used to do this to me ALL the time. I would choose th first cold day in (Sepetember?? October??) and decide that was the day to check to be sure furnace would go on. Inevitably it would not. SO, I would keep at it and most times eventually it would...finally though I did have to call the gas company and they had to replace some little thing. But I think my method worked for at least 6-7 years before I had to pay a service call. Try....you have nothing to lose!! Good Luck...........OH, and Happy Rabbit!! ;)
