If you found a $20 on the ground would you pick it up? No - it’s the flu, Yes - it’s something else.
Well, who knows what I had. Something between a bad cold and flu, but not worth a trip to the doctor. I’m much improved today and, while not quite lively, am managing to get a few things done (laundry, wood fetching). Didn’t go out to see the eagles. It was frigid and windy yesterday and I felt lousy anyway. The eagles will be out and about for a couple more weeks—before they get down to the serious business of nesting.
Cyn, I’ve been eating honey directly from the bottle. It soothes. Better than cough drops any day.
Steph - I’m still scratching my head over that.
Pablo, a pink eagle would scare the heck out of me. I can deal with pink clouds, though.
Still more documentation of this season’s singularly nasty respiratory viruses. From sea to coughing sea, it would appear.
Me, I’m still in cough-cough postnasal drip phlegm misery. If the previous pair of colds is any indication, I’ll probably be still hacking away next month.
Ugh and double-ugh and now triple-ugh.
I sympathize, N. This cold or whatever is truly bad enough, but the residual phlegm and coughing may be even worse. The last time I had one of these, it ended up as an ear infection and bronchitis, with antibiotics and a nebulizer.
This time I’ve been trying everything I can think of to prevent that result. Zinc once a day, at least a quart of orange juice a day, lots of water to keep me really well hydrated to help move the crud out, and Theraflu Flu & Chest Congestion. The latter only has acetaminophen and an expectorant in it. I’ve been using it at night and I don’t wake up with a throat and chest full or a croaky voice. It seems to be keeping the phlegm under control while making my nose rather drippy. But I’d rather have a drippy nose than have my sinuses and breathing apparatus gummed up. I notice that, by the end of the day, I do start to gum up and get croaky. The nightly dose of Theraflu unsticks everything again. Might be worth a try for you.

Listening to the news tonight, they said that of the people who got the flu shots, only about 40% chance it will help cause it is a mutated version and judging by what you wrote, sounds more like the flu--your hair should not hurt with a cold, nor should anything else except your head and chest maybe.......... Honey in tea!! Ginger in tea, both supposed to be really good for you. Feel better..........
PS--I think tomorrow is supposed to be wicked cold and windy so probably best you do not go out anyway........
