It’s worth thinking about, though, since I heat with wood, it’s probably not worth the expense right now. If wood starts getting scarce or doubles in price, I might reconsider quickly. It’s something to consider for others who do use their furnaces regularly in the winter...if they have an older gas furnace like mine.
I checked the meter again today and it had hardly moved since yesterday. Looks as if the savings may be substantial, but I’ll have to track it over the next few weeks to see just how much.

I would check into converting to electronic ignition if you’re getting that kind of savings. It might pay for itself faster than I thought.
