Interfering weather gods!

The Dad and I seem to be having a little difficulty trying to figure out the details of bringing the lad home sometime in the next few days. I was supposed to go get him on Friday evening, but it turns out that my world’s smallest car is not up to the task of carting home all of the stuff that must be carted home. And then, there is the issue of snow storms. There are two rather significant ones forecast over the next 4 or 5 days. One on Thursday, sliding into Friday— and another one over the weekend that is being billed as something of a superstorm to rival the one in March of 1993, which closed down the eastern seaboard for the better part of a week.

I mean, who knows, really. The latter storm is going to be a nor’easter of magnificent proportions by the sounds of things, but weather forecasters always have trouble with those. When one is coming, about the only thing to do is wait and see. Being on the road is not the best option under those circumstances. It’s about a 14 hour round trip, so that’s a lot of time to carve out between snow storms and lousy road conditions.

I said that I’d be willing to rent a car to go fetch the lad and his belongings, but the Dad said he would also be in the the lad’s neighborhood on business somewhere around Tuesday—provided he can get there. That would probably be safer for all involved. The storms will be gone by then.

It all seems to be rather unsettled and confused at the moment. Meanwhile, the lad would really like to know when he gets to come home.

Well. We just don’t know yet. So, here we are, all waffling around, casting eyes to the sky and wondering what the weather man is going to say next. I think, when all is said and done, the lad may be stuck there until Tuesday. As much as he and I do not like that idea at all. What great timing, weather gods. I mean, really.
