90 Percent Project - Week 14
Once again, here are my weekly values for the 90 Percent Project. Suppress your enthusiasm folks. ;)
Electricity
Week 14: 16 kWh
Whoo-hoo!!! I did it. It is possible to live on 16 kWh per week and still have a life. 
It wasn’t easy though. Mainly because I had to be CONSTANTLY aware of what I was using. I suppose that it could become habit/second nature, but that’s going to take some time. Having a laptop would definitely make it easier, though. Really, it’s a daily aggravation when I see how much electricity my desktop uses, knowing that I could get 3 hours out of a laptop for every hour that I get out of the desktop computer.

I bought a pair of dressy trousers. There are times when a girl needs more than jeans, as hard as it is to imagine that statement coming out of my mouth.

Food
Still going strong at the Farmer’s Market. Happily I’ve also found a few items at the grocery store that are locally (Boston area) produced and packaged. Like cottage cheese and some other cheeses and certified organic eggs from cage-free chickens. There are probably more items that I haven’t discovered yet. It will help as winter moves in.
Once in a while I’d like a nice long soak, but for the main, I kind of like getting it over with in a hurry. I wash my hair in the kitchen sink. Uses much less water and actually rinses the shampoo and conditioner out better.
Your thunderstorms went around us completely. The sky flashed in the distance and thunder rumbled, but it went north of us. We only had a little rain. Mostly mist, really.

Navy shower, eh? I would fail miserably at that. I love my showers!! And how do you wash your hair?? I cannot go without washing my hair and that probably takes me longer than anything else when I am showering… Although, I have to admit, I showered faster than the speed of light AND washed my hair AND conditioned it Sunday morning. Had just gotten up at about 5:20AM when the worst thundershower we have had all summer started...I had to shower, had to do my hair cause I was working in the city - so with fingers crossed and pretty much holding my breath, I jumped in, did what I needed to do and got out. I generally take fairly quick ones anyway, but this was a record breaker. Crazy!!
