Change of plans

The lad called a while ago. He asked if I could pick him up tomorrow. He’ll be home for the rest of the week. The first thought that popped into my mind was, “There goes my electricity for the week.” And then..."uh, that’s another tank of gas.” No, really, it’s okay. I don’t mind. At All. He also said he had a list of things to get. There goes my consumer spending for the week, too. No, really, it’s okay. I don’t mind. At least not too much. Depends on how long his list is…

Whatever. It’ll just be nice to have him back for a week. Like a little vacation now that I’m used to having him gone again. Yes, indeed, it will be nice to have him for another week.

If I plan this right, maybe my wood guy (see previous post’s comments) can deliver my load of wood this week, too. I wouldn’t mind having an extra set of hands to dispatch 3 cords into neat stacks before the lad leaves.

Yes, we will be discussing that quite extensively. Evidently the lad claimed his ground. Along the lines of “The day you pull me out of Lafayette is the day I get a full time job and go to school part time where I want to go.” That’s a development that I didn’t anticipate, but I’m rather proud of him. Much needs to be discussed.

Betony is an herb. It’s a very pretty one with spiky purple flowers. Sometimes used as a medicinal herb.
