Fed up, want September

It’s hot and I’m cranky as all get out. The weatherman promised that today would only reach the upper 80s and here I am gazing at the thermometer telling me it’s 96° F! Those few degrees make a big difference.

Oh...and the cooling thunderstorms and rain that they promised that we’d get last evening and night? Ha! Approximately thirty raindrops landed on my deck and then it stopped. There wasn’t even a whisper of breeze to accompany them.

The temperature stayed in the high 70s most of the night and the house heated right up within minutes of turning the AC off. I turned it back on. What were M and I thinking when we had a black roof put on this house??!! Our neighbors across the street just had a light colored roof put on this week and I am seriously envious. Maybe a whole house fan would make a difference. It couldn’t hurt.

I still want to strangle the idiots who decided to cut down all the trees in this neighborhood before they built our houses. I want a tall tree!

Today the yard is turning a deeper shade of brown and I will have to water it sooner or later unless I want it ALL to die. Which I don’t. And the air conditioner is still going full throttle today which makes me cringe even though I love it. And hate it. But mostly love it. Except when I look at the electric meter which is doing the whirling dervish imitation.

This sort of nonsense isn’t what you normally associate with the northeast. On the coast. Where are those sea breezes, anyway?

I think we should just eliminate August.
