Well, I turned the AC off a while ago, after reading the electric meter for the day and almost dropping dead on the spot from shock.
Fortunately, the temperatures are supposed to turn way cooler later tonight and tomorrow.
I had a whole house fan in a former house and yes, they make a tremendous difference. I’ve been thinking about having one installed for the past year. Probably should see to it soon.
I grew up with a whole-house fan - although we called it an “attic fan”. I loved it growing up, but I wonder now how much I would. It just seems hotter now. In central Mississippi this time of year, we’ll do good to get down to 75 sultry, humid degrees at night. I can’t sleep hot. I so can’t wait until that first cool autumn night, but for me it will be maybe 2 months before that happens. Closer, however, than it was two months ago!

A whole-house fan can make a remarkable difference for you. My parents have one in their home, and that was the only cooling we had when I was growing up.
