When we lived in wine country we actually had to move the feeders away from the house. There were so many of them that you could walk smack into one going out the door lol. It was humming bird heaven there.
I’m envious, Cyn. I haven’t seen a woodpecker around here in ages. I’ve read that other birds will dip into the hummingbird feeders. Can’t remember which ones (seem to recall orioles being one), but I wouldn’t doubt that a woodpecker would find it appealing. Speaking of, the front feeder has a tiny patron at this moment. I wish I had a telephoto lens on my camera.
Pablo, you didn’t mention mustard. Your pretzel bona fides are in question until you do!
J, I wish I could claim flocks of hummingbirds like that. I’ve seen pictures of a dozen or more hummers hovering around a feeder. Sigh. I’m just thrilled to have two of them. Maybe more will show up when the young’uns are hatched and fledged.

The woodpeckers at my house seem to like the nectar as much as the hummingbirds and they lower the levels fairly quickly. Everyone thinks I am crazy when I tell them, no one believes me, but now that I have this fantastic digital camera, I intend to take a picture, assuming I have it handy when the woodpeckers come to visit the feeder!!
