Since the weather and the news are totally lousy today, I’m glad this made a bright spot for you. It was really funny to see. I guess we grab our little bright spots where we can.

To waste, to destroy, our natural resources, to skin and exhaust the land instead of using it so as to increase its usefulness, will result in undermining, in the days of our children, the very prosperity which we ought by right to hand down to them amplified and developed. ~Theodore Roosevelt

Alrighty then. A moment ago, standing in my doorway looking out at the general sogginess, I watched a chipmunk and a robin going about their business in the front lawn. Neither was paying any attention to the other. A car passed by out front and spooked the little chipmunk. He turned tail and ran smack into the robin, knocking her over—right off her feet. Hard to say which was more surprised, it happened so fast. Now that was funny. They are both fine and carrying on with their business in the yard.

That was MY bright spot in this horrific day. Shiver me timbers has a whole new meaning after last night and this morning. Wind kicked up, really kicked up somewhere around 2AM and never let up til about an hour or so ago. Still windy, but nothing like it was. I am amazed there is so little damage around. Of course, I was hoping my neighbor’s guinea hen coop would fly away, but it didn’t. DAMN!!
