Spoooky

Last evening I sat down to watch the freshly TiVo’d episode of Bones. It looked interesting with her father mysteriously showing up again, out of the blue. I curled up in my chair and settled back to watch.

A few minutes into the show, the first set of commercials came up. One was for a new movie coming out...the one with the young couple stuck in a motel room where very bad things happen. Something scary happens and the screen flashes the words “DON’T OPEN THE DOOR”...then another scary thing happens to them and the words flash “DON’T ANSWER THE PHONE”...and then something uncanny occurred.

The next blood tinted words to flash across the black screen were “DON’T EXPECT TO LEAVE” and I think TiVo took that a little too literally.

The audio continued to record, but the video stopped with those chilling words and no amount of remote control button pushing would make them go away.

So unless this happened to everyone else watching the show, I’d infer that the universe hasn’t quite finished toying with me this week. I sat in my chair and...well...laughed. I mean, it’s absurdly comical isn’t it? Of all the places for the video to get stuck, it had to choose that spot. What is the universe trying to tell me this week?

Comcast is due in a couple of hours and I have reasonably high hopes that I’ll be leaving Verizon and the possessed DirecTV/TiVo box behind.
