Three more days

Verizon has been notified that I’ve changed telephone carriers. Apparently they haven’t been notified about the rest yet. Their pleasant little missive this morning warns that I’d better get in touch with them right quickly to discuss the matter or my broadband service may be interrupted. And while I’m at it, I’d better provide them with a legit credit card number because they won’t accept debit cards any longer. Despite the fact they’ve been scooping money out of my checking account every month for the past two years with my debit card, I guess that’s no longer an option. Or something.

Nothing like a little snottiness to leave me with a sweet taste in my mouth. Verizon isn’t too worried about losing their customers by the looks of it.

Is there an easy way to find out who my phone carrier is at this moment? I didn’t think my phone would change to Comcast until Thursday, but Verizon seems to think I’m no longer theirs. I guess it doesn’t really matter as long as my phone works, but it would be nice to know.

PS. It’s cold and rainy and foggy out today. Ahhh...spring in New England. We won’t see the upward side of 45° for the rest of the week. Seabreezes, dontcha know.

Ignoring the screeching and the rainbow colors on this site, one finds some useful information:

Since your long distance phone service carrier can be changed without you even knowing it unless certain precautions are taken, I want you to know too how to discover who your long distance carrier really is. 

Simply dial 1-700-555-4141.

The words:  “Thank you for choosing AT&T” will let you know AT&T is still charging you high rates.  And, if some strange company name you never
heard of pops up when you dial that number, your carrier may not be who you think it is either.

To see if your intraLATA has been switched, just dial either 1+your area code+555-4141 or 1+your area code+700-4141 (one or the other should work).

I think “intraLATA” means local calling.

Thankyew, N. Verizon is still my provider. I’ll check again on Thursday evening, expecting to hear that Comcast is my provider.

just checking in to say it is looking a lot like Christmas, every window I go to!  Am at work and office has windows on two sides, normally I enjoy looking out.  But not so much right now!!  Snowing like H** out there!!  Let’s see, snowstorm on Valentine’s Day, Snowstorm on St. P’s day and snowstorm almost on Easter--so this is the year for storms on special days??
