It was 70° here just two days ago. What a shock to system!
Well, I went out in it and did my best to get as many errands run as possible.
The bank, however, had a sign posted on the door, “The bank has closed early for the safety of our employees. We apologize for the inconvenience.” Just great.
Did some grocery shopping though. That was open and the cashiers looked bored out of their skulls. It was deserted in there, too, and they wanted to go home.
About the only traffic out there were snow plows. They looked really happy.
It’s nearly 11PM and still coming down. Had to go out at 7, just to the train station to pick up J, and it was horrible!! I would guess we have at least 8” or more so far. Hopefully it ends soon.
Oh well, was a good night to make corned beef and cabbage, etc. A day early, but Saturday night is DATE night and there will be no cooking in this house. HAHA - You will like this--my word is whatevah!! Fits perfectly.
It’s still snowing here, too. Blowing and drifting snow. Not sure how much we have. At least 8” and likely more. It’s too busy drifting to settle into a uniform covering. I went downtown to pick up the kids around 7:00-ish (they walked down and were going to walk back home, but you know me...). Actually wasn’t too bad because the plows had just gone through and there were hardly any cars out at all. It’s much easier to drive in the snow when you don’t have to worry about the other guy.
One thing I do wish...they’d stop putting salt down on top of snow. That just makes it oily and slippery. Powder (or even packed snow) at least provides some traction.
Well, that was real fun. NOT. It just took me about a hour to clean off the car so E could go to work. In the hail. About twenty-four inches worth. We got about 13 inches but, thanks to that sideways falling snow and the drifting....... ya fun. Our car was the first in line so everyone was thanking me that our car blocked the other five from getting it! Have I mentioned recently howmuchif*%kinghatenewengland?
It’s gross out there, isn’t it? Not enough that we had to get a foot or more of snow. NO, then it had to sleet and spit freezing rain on top of it and now it is frozen in place. I don’t think I’ll get out of my driveway until it melts. And it had better melt fast.
Your little foray out into it must have been miserable. There are a lot of other people feeling the same way you do today. Guaranteed.
OMG I now have to go out and drive in this lol. I forgot GC1 has to work today! I hope the roads are better now than they were this morning. I am going to be a nervous wreck lol.
OH and to rant a little lol. My mothers BF came over and very nicely parked her car in my spot after E left. So now my spot is the ONLY spot NOT plowed out. Like I didn’t have a bazillion other reasons not to like him heh?
Please oh please mister plow man, come back just one more time today! Keeping fingers crossed lol.
oh again. You have no idea how tempting it was to send those pic’s to my mom lol. But she would have sent them to a million other people and then they would be all over the internet lol, so I didn’t.
Tell the lad GC1 just shook her head at them, of course there was the role of the eyes along with it lol.
Oy. Little scamps. Let me get them out of town before you show anyone else. Hopefully the evidence will melt before too long. If it hasn’t been knocked down by now. I hope.
Explanation—the boys went out to play in the snow last night after most normal people were asleep. The snow was perfect for packing and they said they were going to have a snow ball fight. Instead they wandered up the street and built a snow sculpture of an anatomically correct feature of the male body. Eight freaking feet tall.
And took pictures of it.
It’s time they went back to school. Yeppers, it is.
Hey, Michelangelo’s David is anatomically correct, and it’s larger-than-life, too. Nobody objects to that (except maybe Ashcroft).
Er...yeah… but Michelangelo had the good sense to include the rest of David around the controversial bits.
and Michelangelo wasn’t proudly standing by it saying CHEESE LOL!

It’s doing lots of snowing and hailing here. It was 70 degrees last Sunday. What happened?
