You were ahead of the curve on that one. Healthy choice and now a good financial benefit. ;)
In the intermediate future we should probably get used to any foods, made of crops that are being diverted to ethanol production, to go through the roof. I believe corn syrup is one of those items already spiraling in price. A couple of weeks ago I read something about a tortilla shortage in Mexico, too. Should get really interesting when the grocery bills spike and food shortages ensue so that we may continue to drive our vehicles with abandon.
There is a ton of money being poured into new ethanol plants in this country. I wonder if any of them are beginning to have second thoughts.
You know, I didn’t realize until I read this post, I haven’t had one single beer since I have moved back to NE LOL. To me beer is a warm weather refresher.... ya when I was in Ca it was a year round pleasure lol.
That is clearly the American way. I read someplace yesterday that Europeans snicker at our insistence on drinking beer ice cold. They claim that beer’s flavor is suppressed the colder it is—which, they say, is understandable since most American beer tastes awful. I like warm beer or cold, but I prefer it with a meal. Coffee is my beverage of choice, as we well know.
Funny, I don’t like my beer ice cold. I prefer it just above room temp. And yes, coffee, you can drink that anytime lol.

After thirty years of drinking a couple of six-packs a night, this makes me doubly glad I quit alcohol altogether five or six years ago.
