Hmmm, we are in the snow belt as you know so could get 12” or 24” or rain. Anyone’s guess. I laughed when I read about you being at the market. You forgot the other staple everyone seems to run out and buy........toilet paper. I get the biggest kick out of it. I mean really, how many days are we ever apt to be snowed in? 3?? And, we do live in New England where these storms are usually the norm, not the unusual, but still........people get all hyper.
My boss was all excited hoping for a snow day tomorrow. I asked if that meant I would get one too? All of a sudden it did not sound so good to her!!
My husband flew out this afternoon to DC for the week--he often lucks out and misses these things. He called and said he got in about 4 hours later than he should have (which messed up his dinner plans with our son) - plane was wicked late, not because of the weather here or there, but because O’Hare is shut down.....Oh well, I have food, milk, COFFEE, matches to light the top of the stove with if the power goes out, wood for the fireplace and plenty of bread and toilet paper..........what more could I need!!
The snow emergency lights have been flashing around town since early this afternoon. It’s cold and smells like snow, but not a flake of snow or anything else has fallen yet. I’m getting impatient!
Cyn, for some reason I never thought of toilet paper as a snow storm staple. I guess I’ve never been that low on TP prior to a snow storm. I’ll have to pay attention the next time we have a pre-storm shopping frenzy. That should be amusing.
People here get all in a dither about the prospect of a foot or two of snow. Imagine living in upstate New York where they just got 120 inches in one week? Hope no one ran out of TP!!
As long as you have COFFEE and plenty of fire wood...you’re golden.
I did buy myself a little treat today...a wind-up LED flashlight. No batteries necessary. It’s bright and, by gosh, if the power goes out, I’ll be able to read by something stronger than candlelight and without worrying about batteries dying. Two minutes of cranking, gives me an hour of light. I almost hope I get to use it.

I’m pretty sure that menace you see what here last night. We got ice and then snow, but it’s so late in the season now that no one was much bothered by it. Oh, some schools were cancelled, so my student teacher son had the day off. He was pleased.
