It’s raining here and freezing as soon as it hits. It’s not quite as icy as it was yesterday, but still slippery enough to warrant extreme caution. I’ve had to help Terry off the deck each time she’s gone out. Her legs just fly out from under her and her legs are so long and spindly that it doesn’t take much for them to break. We found that out a couple of years ago when she wound in a splint for five weeks after slipping on some ice. Snow would be far preferable to this.
Yes, it is always something! My washer is starting to make bad noises. I think I can safely add that to my list of items that will need replacing very soon. Good luck with the tile selection. Hope you can get out to do it. But once you’re there, that’s what I call fun. There are so many gorgeous tiles these days!
Ice storm?
What’s that?
we’ve had the warmest winter here since I moved to the area. Today we had bright sunshine and nearly 18 degrees (that would be Celsius). Insane. Last year my heating system was working overtime, today I turned it off for a while.
I have the feeling you Americans are blowing too much crud into the air ... and we get the global warming effect right in my backyard.
Get with the program already (I know you have!), please?
Your pleas fall on a lot of deaf ears. But more people are beginning to be aware. Being aware isn’t the same as doing anything about it, but there are some encouraging signs. Americans, who represent 5% of the world population, use 25% of the world’s resources. And China is coming right along in that vein. It’s getting a little late in the process to fix it, but we could, at least, stop the damage where it stands. What are the odds? I dunno.

OUCH!! I feel your pain. For whatever reasons, we seemed to have lucked out (so far) and it has stayed just plain wet and chilly here. So.Far. Oh wait, is that a hint of white appearing on the pine needles....it is raining, but perhaps freezing, not sure.
Hope not as I HAVE to go out in a bit.......you see, we had a problem with the wall in one of the bathrooms, the tiles fell off. Big problem!! Bigger problems behind the wall, so we decided to up our remodeling schedule by about 8 months and had it gutted...and if I do not go pick out the tile today and the tile for the floor as well, then they cannot do it next weekend - and I work the rest of the week, so, hopefully the road is not a skating rink..........(oh, and since we are gutting and redoing one bathroom, we decided to do the others as well, one after the other, after the other...the fun never ends, does it??)
