Ooh, isn’t that a super album?! I think it’s one of his best in a long time. Definitely worthy of rocking the neighborhood! Hope your neighbors are enjoying it.
Nice list for the coming year. I wish I had thought of that.
I have to say that I fear/think/worry/wonder about the recent turn toward the left in the last election. I’m not sure that the electorate is voting in favor of the Democrats and their policies as much as voting against the Republicans and their policies. “That didn’t work. Let’s try this.” If the Dems don’t do something significant/important in the next two years, I think the next general election will still be up for grabs. So your point about the Dems needing to grow could be taken a couple of ways, I think.
We received notice this year that a heifer was given to a deserving family on our behalf. That’s the kind of gift that comes closest to the true meaning of Xmas to my way of thinking.
Which captcha (ani-spam image plugin) are you using for your blog? How often does it ‘fail’ randomly (e.g., the copy issue)?
Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

That is my sense, too, Pablo. People weren’t voting for the Dems because they have turned progressive all of a sudden. They were just disgusted with the Repubs. The Dems have an enormous opportunity to do something good with what they have been given. I am cautiously optimistic that they’ll accomplish a few good things, but I think they are still too timid and unwilling to rock the boat too much. I wonder how bad things have to get before they’ll actually stand for something. The trouble is, I think we’ll probably find out just how bad things have to get.
Walter, I use a captcha device that is built into ExpressionEngine—the blogging software that I use. Once in a while it seems to hiccup and I’ve lost a comment or two in the past. Not often, but enough to encourage me to copy what I’ve written before I push the submit button. I know that a few other commenters have experienced the same glitch in the past.
Merry Christmas to you, too. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading about your ongoing activities at the farm this year.
SG1 rocks. We’ve stopped watching it finally, in the 10th season, but for the first eight or so seasons, it’s a joy.
Now, Battlestar Galactica has taken its place…
Merry Christmas--late!! I think I am just coming up for air!! And then tonight a dinner party for 20 or so for youngest son’s birthday ( youngest at 29!!...but!). And then the frivolity ends for a bit. My older son and his wife leave tomorrow (sad face) but it has been wonderful having them here. Life has been hectic, but I am loving every second of it....however, I did have to come in to work for a few hours and am not at all unhappy about being here!!
My little addition to the household has fit in beautifully and seems quite happy and content........she is a JUMPER though and has already managed to give us a few scary moments. Tiny little thing, she is 6 months old but cannot weigh more then 3-4 pounds. Guess that is why her original name was peanut!! Faster than the speed of light she is though.......A new digital camera was under the tree for me so pictures soon (as soon as I figure out how to send them!!)
Glad your Christmas was a merry one. I have missed reading all my favorite blogs the last few days. I have some catching up to do!!

Speaking of noise vibrating, my neighbors are being treated to 80 watts per channel worth of Dylan’s new Modern Times album. It’s excellent; very reminiscent of Nashville Skyline back 30-some years ago.
