Awwww heck, you know I love doing that stuff, for some stupid reason. I have to go in to Boston for the afternoon with E tomorrow (Wed) so I will be over on Thursday and we can tackle the lad’s room, again lol.
Oh and do you have any shopping to do for the lad at Best Buy by any chance? I would like to go over there this weekend so I can check out the Mp3 players. I just have no clue what is what with them. I really would like to get the most for my buck. I know nothing about them really, so any ideas from any one reading (hint, hint) would be most welcome LOL.
Let me know if you would like to go, I really need to get some x-mas shopping done this weekend, while I have the money.
Yes, dk, next time I’ll unplug the television. I did unplug all the computer equipment, though. And yes, 54 degrees is mighty cold. I had the thermostat set very low the entire day because we were working so hard. Had to keep lowering it until it finally settled at 60°. So the house only lost 6 degrees in about 9 hours. I guess that’s not too bad for a breezy 25° night.
J, I’d love to go to Best Buy with you. I still don’t know what to get the lad for Christmas, but I’ll bet there’s something in that store he’d like.
gee JUSTME, if you run out of things to do in Kate’s house, you could come over and play in mine...........it needs it!! LOL
Have you considered an IPOD instead of MP3? I “think” they do essentially the same thing, but IPOD is a little more sophisticated and perhaps holds more? I honestly don’t know. I have adult sons who did not want MP3’s a few years ago but did want IPODS. One of them uses his a lot--has downloaded virtually everything he owns and a lot of what I have into it and continues to do so..........beyond that, though, I have NO knowledge!!
Before you go, go online and see what coupons are available for BestBuy. I swear I got something in the mail the other day for a lot off if I used my Mastercard at Best Buy.........there may be other things out there.
have fun..........
I have no personal experience with this, but I’ve read a fair bit about it. If you’re buying MP3 players or IPODs, pay close attention to the earphones and their (perceived) comfort. I imagine they’re like certain items of clothing in that you can’t exactly try them out and put them back on the shelves, but if you’re buying for someone else a little research into that someone’s previous experience with the things might serve you well.
Note that I’m not saying that research would be easily done!
In the last 4 years we’ve gone through 2 iPods. The second one is new this September. They hold up extremely well to all kinds of hard use and the lad uses his All The Time.
J, I tried a couple of different mp3 players before the iPod and they really didn’t hold up at all. I think one was a Rialto and I can’t remember what the other one was. One quit working after a couple of months and the other lasted about 6 months before it just quit working. They weren’t inexpensive, but, in the end, I spent more on those two than I did on one iPod.
I haven’t checked, but does the Apple store sell refurbished iPods?

No hay mal que por bien no venga. From everything, something good can be gleaned. After frigid night, you now know that the next time the power goes out, so too is the TV unplugged
Glad it worked out well - though 54 degrees comes close to the borderline
