I suppose Black Friday, from an accountant’s perspective, would sound festive enough. Hope springs eternal. According to Snopes, however, they still have a couple of weeks to go before most of us reluctantly drag our reluctant selves to the stores.
Today, is CyberMonday, but that may also be more wishful thinking than fact. At least it sounds better than Black Friday.

I think the source of the term “Black Friday” is that the stores’ books will be in the black, and accounting expression that means they will have taken in more money than they paid out in operating costs. But I only got Cs in accounting, so what do I know?
