Inspiration on the internets

So, yesterday I was poking around the internet, not looking for anything in particular. Just following people’s links. I started out at Loobylu. She’s a talented artist and a mama with all the daily ups and downs and laundry that we all have to deal with. But she has such a sense of humor about it all. One of her links took me to On My Desk, a blog chock full of photographs of individual artists’ work spaces, desks, and studios. Fascinating.

One of the artists spotlighted is Geninne Zlatkis who has a studio that is to die for. Her studio is neater than most houses. Don’t know how she does it. But one dazzling feature of her studio is a magnetized wall on which she can affix things with magnets. How did she do that?

Her link led me to Rust-Oleum.

I had no idea this was possible. Not an inkling. And clearly, it works! Now I’m wandering around my house eying my walls, wondering how many of them I could reasonably turn into magnetic walls. No, really. I am.

Well, okay, maybe just a couple of spots here and there. Maybe the wall over my desk. Maybe the one in the bathroom that has confounded my imagination since the day I moved in here. Or how about a stained glass frame with some magnetized board attached to it? The possibilities are almost endless and I’m just about ready to break out the paint brush.

Finally, I wound up at Tommy Kane’s blog which is loaded with his art. From there, I found my way to his illustration website. Oh what a feast for the eyes. And then I found a stack of his journals, of which, Obey totally captivated me. Some people have more talent than should be legal. But I’m glad they do. Oh man, I love the internet!
