Hm. Plane ticket + car rental + time off from work + travelling with pregnant wife and three-year-old… vs. home made apple pie…
What time should we be there?
I love apple pie - and home made soup - in cool weather.
But I love warm weather more. Enjoy your day.
Well, Dave, I think you still have time. While it’s raining, the cold and the wind have been delayed for several hours. Tonight instead of this morning. It’s a relatively balmy 62° for now.
I love homemade soup, too, Cassie. Split pea, potato, and chicken soups are my favorites. I agree, though, warm weather is better.
Gary, yes, it is interesting how perspectives differ. You know, I’ve noticed the same thing here in the winter. While, I think that 65° is a pretty balmy day, I just about freeze when my house is 65° in the winter. Then I’m layered with clothes and my thick fuzzy socks. If I wore all that on a day like today, I’d die of heat. What makes the difference? It’s the same temperature. Likewise, when I visited J while she lived in southern California, I enjoyed shorts and a tee shirt on a 70° evening while she and her family were bundled up in sweats because they were freezing. To them, that felt cold. To me, that felt heavenly.
By the way, Congrats on the new grandbaby arrival!

Gosh, and here I sit with the windows open and the temperature at 65 thinking how nice autumn feels...Coldest day of the year since April. What a different perspective a continent gives....
