The most unconditional love you’re ever likely to see, isn’t it? They just get SO excited when they know you’re coming home. Terry used to wait by the fence for the lad to come home from school. She knew when to start looking for him and when she saw him she’d go into twirls of ecstacy. Abbie and Terry both do their version of a happy dance when I come home from anywhere, even if I’ve only been away for a few minutes. It’s a wonderful greeting. I don’t necessarily see how that is learned behavior. They are HAPPY—expressing an EMOTION. It shows in their eyes and their body language.
