Normally, I could justify it as a stop on the way to gather the mail. It’s a holiday today, though. No mail. I fired up the coffee pot. How can a coffee pot be so excruciatingly slow?!
My new one is programmable, not that I’ve tried to set it for a specific time in the morning. From the sound of it, your’s ain’t.
This one does seem a little slower than its predecessors; it has a kinda nifty “pause” function, though. If it’s still making coffee but you can’t wait, it allows about 15 seconds where you can remove the pot from the plate and it stops dripping, giving you time to pour a cup.
Mine is programmable and it works...when it wants to. Not necessarily when I want it to. It’s quite contrary.
I also have the pause function on this one, but if I go to grab a slosh of coffee to hold me until the pot is finished, the coffee is so strong it’s like syrup. My old coffee pot didn’t do that. I dunno why I bought this one. It frustrates me.
Wow - 17 minutes. I sure hope it makes excellent coffee.

We have a dunkin donuts about 4 minutes from our house too. I guess lots of people do.
That’s true, Cassie. There are 3 Dunkin Donuts in my town and we only have a population of about 18,000. Plus one Starbucks and two local coffee houses. Guess we New Englanders like our coffee because all of them are always busy.
And my coffee maker only makes pretty good coffee unless I use the special feature that drips water in slow spurts. Then it takes a half an hour, but the flavor is noticeably better. I’d like to use that with the timer, but the timer is sort of iffy. On a normal day there is no way on earth I’ll wait a half an hour for my coffee!

I assume it’s a 4-minute DRIVE?
Contemplate walking there and you might give your coffee pot a second chance. ;)
