Prohibited Items

According to TSA, these items are no longer allowed on airplanes in carry on luggage. They can be packed in checked luggage, however.

All creams and lotions (i.e. ointments, suntan lotion, topical creams)
Bug sprays
Bubble bath
Bubble bath balls (gel)
Eye drops/ gels
Gel deodorants (solid stick is permitted)
Gel caps
Hair styling gels
Hair sprays, including aerosols
Hair straightener or detangler
Lip gels
Lip glosses / liquids (solid lip glosses and blushes are permitted)
Liquid foundations
Liquid medications (up to 4 oz.of non-essential)
Liquid sanitizers
Liquid soaps (bar soap is permitted)
Nail polishes
Make up removers / facial cleansers
Mascara
Mouthwash
Nail polish
Nail polish removers
Perfumes / colognes
Saline solutions
Toothpaste

All beverages (excluding formula/breast milk—which DO NOT have to be taste tested!)
Camelbaks,similar backpacks and water bottles must be empty
Gel based sports supplements
Jellos
Puddings
Yogurts (or gel like substances)

Baby teethers (with gel or liquid inside)
Children’s toys with gel inside
Gel candles
Gel shoe inserts

And your shoes must be removed and run through the X-Ray machine. The updated FAQ says that laptops, PDAs, and cell phones are NOT prohibited carry on items. And solid lipstick is okay.

And remember. It you show up at a security checkpoint with prohibited items, even accidentally, you may criminally or civilly prosecuted. Just hope the security officer isn’t having a bad day.
