Pissed off people

I thought it would be interesting to note the lad’s conversation with his Dad early this afternoon. The Dad had flown to another state to participate in a meeting yesterday and today. Along with several other colleagues. Not much is currently allowed on the plane with you including laptops and make-up and such.

Wellll, the Dad’s checked laptop never made it to his destination. It’s either stolen, lost, or misdirected. It’s definitely not where it’s supposed to be which isn’t helpful when there is prepared material on it for a presentation at a meeting. Evidently several other people’s luggage never made it, either.

The professional women are as mad as hell because they had to dump all their pricey make-up. There wasn’t time to replace it after debarking from the plane. They arrived at the meeting looking a little worse for wear and, let’s face it, in the professional world you don’t necessarily want to show up at an important meeting looking like you just crawled out of bed. Nor, I suspect, spend $100+ dollars for replacements every time you travel to a meeting or conference. And these are people who travel a lot.

Yesterday’s meeting didn’t start on time, either. No surprise there.

I won’t relate the terms in which the Dad described this latest action, but it surprised me. He was one of those on an airplane on on the morning of September 11 when the World Trade Towers were hit. He was so whacked out by it, he refused to fly for eight months afterward. He totally welcomed the resulting security measures. So it’s not like we’re talking about a devil-may-care kind of guy.

I think fed up is an appropriate term here. Sounds like there was a room full of very pissed off people yesterday and today.
