That’s horrible news, Cyn. By the time this winter is in full swing, a lock in at $2.64 may even look cheap, but it’s surely going to hurt. Man, that’s expensive for home heating. People on fixed incomes are royally screwed. After this winter, people aren’t going to be able to give their big houses away. They’re having a hard enough time unloading them already.
If there is a Santa Claus, may I have a wind mill and some solar panels? Please???

more on the news stinks front...my mom locks in oil prices each summer for the year - sometimes a gamble, but in the last few years has been the better deal (plus the oil company she deals with is owned by one of my very best friends from high school which is not a bad thing). Anyway, you lock in at a certain price, give them a substantial check and then hope it lasts until the next year. Last year she locked in at something around 1.45-1.65, I cannot remember which. She got her contract this year.........she has the opportunity to lock in at $2.64. She is beside herself. And even though she spends December-April with us and leaves her thermostat at 50 in her house, closes off a couple of rooms, her bills are still sky high. It is disgusting.
I want some good news tooooooooooo
