Case of the uglies

Posting has been a little off this past week. Sorry about that. I still don’t feel all that great. This has been a rugged little bug/cold/plague that steam rolled me.

And it’s unbearably hot and humid. Today is supposed to be the hottest yet, though. Already 91° at 8:30 AM, I think we may easily top 100° as advertised.

Beyond that, the hostilities in the middle east have flattened me, too. The Neocons must still be in charge and they’ve won the concession. The talk of ceasefire is on the back burner, and the war between Israel and Hizballah will expand. Whoopee. What is it that they want to win? Neocons have never really been very explicit on that point. Their justifications for war, war, and more war change with the wind, but the goal of total destruction never seems to waver. With this new development, we’ve walked up to the edge of cliff and jumped into the abyss. This war is turning the few allies we have left in the middle east against us. I am convinced that the people pushing this have diseased minds and souls. Not to mention their profound failure to understand human nature. I can’t think of anything that would make me hate more than if someone destroyed my house and community and country and killed my family. Whatever twists and turns the mind may take to justify the slaughter, they just don’t matter to the ones being slaughtered. After decades of this, it should be apparent to someone that it’s not working for either side. Revenge is a passion that gives meaning to the lives of those who have been robbed of everything meaningful through violence and force. It lasts for generations unless someone gives both sides a reason to stop. I am weary of politicians and warmongers. Peace negotiations are hard work, much harder than presidentin’, I reckon. Pretty clear that ours is not interested in it nor up to the task. The next time he says that he’s making the world a safer place I will laugh with extreme bitterness. He is a stupid man. Could we impeach him now?
